  • Dr. Sharaf Ali Shah

    Dr. Sharaf Ali Shah is Medical Graduate (MBBS) and has obtained Masters of Science in Public Health (MSPH) with Epidemiology major from University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA.

    Currently, he is working as Project Director Institute of Infectious Diseases, Dow University of Health Sciences Karachi.

    He is also co-investigator AIDS International Research and Training Program (AITRP) University of Alabama at Birmingham, and co-investigator Vanderbilt School of Medicine Nashville, Fogarty International National Institute of Health (NIH) USA.

    Dr Shah has experience of more than 10 years in prevention and control of infectious diseases particularly HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections and Blood Borne Infections.

    He has worked as Provincial Program Manager, AIDS Control Program, Government of Sindh, for about 10 years and was responsible for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of HIV/AIDS prevention activities in the province of Sindh. He was also Coordinating with National AIDS Control Program Islamabad, District Governments of the province under devolution program, UN and Donor Agencies and NGOs working for prevention and Control of Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV/AIDS. He closely worked with UNAIDS, UNICEF, WHO, UNFPA, UNDOC, World Bank, USAID and CIDA for prevention and control of HIV/AIDS, in Pakistan.

    He has extensive research experience focusing Epidemiology of infectious diseases, and has published several research papers in peer-reviewed journals.
    Dr. Shah has written numerous reports on different aspects of infectious diseases and has presented papers in National and International conferences.

  • Dr. M. Rafiq Khanani

    Dr. M. Rafiq Khanani is medical graduate (MBBS) he obtained his Masters Degree
    M, Phil in Microbiology from Basic Medical Institute Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center Karachi.

    Currently he is working as Professor Pathology Dow University of Health Sciences Karachi. He has broad experience and excellent skills in Teaching, Research, Health promotion, service delivery, Project development and implementation.

    His Research focuses on Infectious Diseases particularly HIV/AIDS; Hepatitis B, C, Community and hospital acquired infections and their control. Additionally He is Facilitator/ Trainer of various workshops on HIV/AIDS and teaching advisor immunology and infectious diseases research lab, department of microbiology, University of Karachi.

    Professionally he is member of International AIDS society, Infection control society Pakistan, Hospital infection society (HIS, U.K) and life member of Pakistan society for immunology and infectious diseases.

    He is author of numerous Publications, Scientific papers on different aspects of Infectious diseases Published in peer-reviewed journals moreover he is frequently asked guest speaker in national and international conferences.

  • Dr. S. A. Mujeeb

    Dr S. A Mujeeb is a Medical Graduate MBBS and obtained his master’s degree M. Phil in Microbiology form Basic institute of Medical Sciences Jinnah Post Graduate Medical center Karachi.

    He was Awarded M.Sc Epidemiology as a distant learner program from London school of hygiene and tropical medicine London.

    Currently he is working as Assistant Professor/ Incharge Blood bank and AIDS surveillance center Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center Karachi.

    Dr. Mujeeb has more then ten years experience in the field of research with special emphasis on blood born diseases particularly Hepatitis and HIV/AIDS. He conducted various research studies and published books, publications and scientific papers on wide range of health issues in national and international medical indexed journals; he has attended number of conferences on infectious diseases nationwide.

    Professionally he is a member of National Reference Laboratory, Australia, International Society of Blood Transfusion, Reproductive Health Research Working Group, Pop Council, Islamabad, Safe Injection Global Network-Pakistan and Blood Transfusion Authority Govt of Sindh. Providing consultancies to Hussaini Blood Bank and Pakistan Blood Bank.

 
  • Mr. Shoukat Ali

    Shoukat Ali is Member Board of Directors Bridge Consultants Foundation, obtained his graduation in social sciences and law from university of Karachi.

    Currently he is working as secretary General Pakistan AIDS Prevention Society and Executive Head of National AIDS Service Organization.

    He is very much involved in organizing large number of Educational /Training activities in the area of Prevention and Care of HIV/AIDS, he has also integrated activities with other organizations working on Prevention of Infectious Diseases.

    He has worked as Project coordinator in multiple projects on vulnerable populations sponsored by WHO and other National/International donor agencies.

    Internationally he has affiliation with International council of AIDS services organization and core member of Representatives of the regional chapter APCASO (Abia Pacific Council of AIDS Service Organization), Manila. He is also holding the portfolio of Secretary of National Trade union house all Pakistan trade union congress.

    He contributed large number of articles, newsletters, and reports to leading national and international newspapers and medical journals.

  • Dr Arshad Altaf

    MBBS, MPH (MASTER of PUBLIC HEALTH (MPH) in Health Behavior as a Fogarty-AITRP Fellow)

    Senior Surveillance Officer, Canada-Pakistan HIV/AIDS Surveillance Project

    Dr. Arshad Altaf is a Health Behavior Specialist. He completed his MPH in Health Behavior as Fogarty AITRP Fellow in 1998 from university of Alabama at Birmingham USA.

    He is currently working in the Canada Pakistan HIV/AIDS Surveillance Project (HASP), of Canadian International Development Agency. His responsibilities include supervising and providing technical assistance to contracted organizations/consortium in conducting second generation surveillance as well as providing technical assistance to the Sindh AIDS Control Programme.

    He has been a leader in Injection safety in Pakistan and is also the focal person for SIGN Pakistan alliance.

    He has published in the areas of HIV/AIDS, injection safety and other infectious diseases in peer-reviewed journals. He has also worked as a master trainer in number of workshops in the country.

  • Dr. Naseer Baloch

    Dr. Naseer Baloch is a medical graduate (MBBS) of Dow University of Health science, Member College of Physicians and Surgeons (MCPS), he obtained his
    Masters in General Surgery (MS) and awarded Diploma and fellowship in Urology by school of Medicine University of Wein, Austria. He has been awarded FACS (Fellow of American College of Surgeon) October, 2006.

    Currently working as Head of General Surgery Department, Sindh Government Services Hospital Karachi, He is also President of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Karachi He has extensive Teaching and Research Experience besides his surgical expertise; he conducted various academic and research projects on different surgical conditions and procedures. Dr. Baloch has published Number of Articles and Publications, which focus on HIV/AIDS and other Blood Borne Infections in Surgical Patients and Hospital employees. He participated in National and as well as International Workshops/ Trainings Symposiums and Conferences.

  • Muhammad Umar Abro

    Muhammad Umar Abro is Economist obtained his masters degree (M.A economics) from Sindh University Jamshoro. Basically he is a health economist with expertise in health care services finance.

    Currently working as Director Planning and Development Bridge consultants foundation

    Worked with Government of Sindh as Additional Director Development for more then 20 years. He has extensive experience of planning, designing and implementation of health sector projects, and worked in co-ordination with World Bank, Asian development Bank, DFID, UNICEF, and WHO.

    He has attended numerous National and International courses, seminars and workshops on health care management and financing.

  • Mir Ahmed Ali

    Mir Ahmed Ali is working as Administrator, Bridge Consultants Foundation since last six years. He is a Commerce and Law graduate (B.Com, L.L.B) and has vast experience of management. Prior to joining Bridge he worked with the Federal Government for 26 years as a gazetted officer.

    He looks after all administrative procedures of Bridge including grants, research, communication, and overseeing organization of training sessions at provincial and national level.

  • Agha Maabood Ali

    He is the data manager of Bridge for the past four years. He has Masters in Economics & Population Sciences, from University of Karachi and Diploma in Information Technology from Sindh Board of Technical Education Karachi.

    He has extensive experience in Database Management and Relational Database Management System, (Oracle). He worked as data base manager in various projects of the organizations including Biological and Behavioral Surveillance of high risk groups, risk reduction project for IDUs and he performed computerized coding of data collected for juvenile drug users.

    He has attended number of National & International Training workshops focusing on Grant writing, Data Analysis, Epidemiological Methods and Data Management. In 2009 he was nominated for a two weeks International Course on Epidemiological Methods, at Jaipur India.

    He has also arranged and managed a number of workshops, seminars and other organizational meetings throughout the province.

  • Dr Ashraf Memon

    Dr Ashraf Memon is medical graduate (MBBS) and Member College of Physicians and Surgeons (MCPS) in Clinical Pathology.

    Currently working as Chief Pathologist Sindh AIDS Control Program. He is providing technical assistance, supervision and monitoring in the laboratory work of referral lab at provincial Sindh AIDS control implementation unit, and also assists in various Seroprevalence studies conducted by WHO, UNDCP, UNAIDS, National & Provincial AIDS Control Programs, NGOs and other institution for various high risk groups.

    He has conducted various research studies on Genotyping of HIV/ and Seroprevalence of STDs, Hepatitis B, C and measles in collaboration with university of Alabama, university of Hawaii, John Hopkins institute USA and university of Mayo Japan.

    He is master trainer and facilitator for training courses on HIV/AIDS and STDs surveillance for all level of health care providers through out the Sindh province.

    Dr Ashraf was awarded short term fellowship on HIV/AIDS & STDs Laboratory Methods and Surveillance from - Feb 18 – April 17, 1999, Infectious Disease Division, University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA.

    He represented the country in WHO and other international forums on HIV/AIDS and STIs Diagnosis/Surveillance issues.
    He has published research papers and publications in national and international medical indexed journals.
